Family sayings passed down through generations can be funny, comforting, wise, or inspiring. Often, we don’t realise how much history, culture, and values they carry.
My mum has a saying for everything. Winter is "the freezing season," the newspaper's "hatches, matches, and dispatches" means births, marriages, and deaths, and “keep your pecker up” (meaning chin up) is her way of cheering us on through tough times.
This simple geometric design, inspired by a traditional quilt pattern, offers a modern way to honour those meaningful phrases. You can even add a few of your own!
