My story
Fighte fuaighte - Woven into & through each other
My love for storytelling springs from the spirit of my late father, whose animated anecdotes filled our home with laughter. While his gift lay in telling elaborate jokes and tall tales, mine found its voice through visual communication and a fulfilling 20-year career in graphic design.
The seeds of Kin Creative began as a personal journey into my family’s past. Guided by documents, photographs, diaries, and rich family knowledge, I immersed myself in the fabric of our ancestors’ lives and found a deep sense of place, self and belonging – of them being at home in me.
In 2024, I began weaving our stories into a series of designs to bring them out of the archives and into our everyday lives. I started by identifying themes and relationships and distilling them into simple shapes, symbols, illustrations, and text. With these elements, I created contemporary compositions that connect my family with our people and past.
I’m particularly drawn to women’s stories, quiet acts of daily life, and ways familial warmth can be shared between generations.
Having our ancestral stories woven into and through our everyday has been a soulful experience for my family, and I’d love to work with you to present your history in a way that celebrates and honours your kinsfolk.
