Creating this piece felt like a joyful treasure hunt, uncovering family symbols and stories that express our shared traditions, achievements, skills, identity and values. I especially loved gathering memories from extended family members and weaving them into a single design that celebrates our unique legacy.
This artwork brings together the histories of both my family and my husband’s, forming a patchwork of meaningful symbols for future generations to cherish.
Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the design. Carefully placing and sizing up to 40 symbols so they sit beautifully and harmoniously together takes a skilled eye. Some symbols may also need to be digitally rebuilt to ensure they look their best.

A2 Framed Print
Artwork: 42cm x 59.4cm. Outer frame: 68.6cm x 86cm (includes 12cm mat border).Please get in touch for alternative sizes.

Paper: Enhanced Matte 230gsm — a luxurious, flat matte surface that delivers sharp detail and rich, highly saturated colour.
Print: Printed on industry-leading 12-colour Epson SureColour® printers for a brilliant, durable finish.
Glass: Standard glass is included in the price. Premium glass options are also available for an additional cost.
Frame: Made from solid timber. Fawn Skinny is a natural light oak wood frame measuring 20mm wide x 22mm deep.

Finish: Each piece is finished with bevel-cut mats, a taped back, and suitable hanging hardware attached.

The cost of the design will vary depending on the amount and quality of symbols you’re able to provide, or if you need some symbols digitally rebuilt or newly created. I’ll provide a price after having a conversation with you, but as an indication, $2,000 is a common end price (regular glass). Specialty glass and delivery are additional.

Production and delivery can take approximately 2 weeks after the file has been sent for printing and framing.

Each design is accompanied by an A4 booklet providing a short meaning behind every symbol. It will be posted separately.
